Can I assign a ISBN for a CD-ROM
A CD-ROM can be assigned a ISBN number only if a great part of the CD is in written text! If the CD is part of a printed publication it doesn't need a special ISBN.
What are the requirements for a CD-ROM
On each CD-ROM must be following information:
- Name of the publisher (Czech University of Life Sciences)
- Faculty
- Department
- Title
- Author/s
- Year
- ISBN
In case any of the information is missing there can be sanctions against the publisher, CZU. The order of mentioned information on a CD is arbitrary.
What to do if a book is published by two organisations?
If a book is published by CZU in cooperation with other organisation which is a member of ISBN system, there is no need to have two ISBNs. The ISBN issued to CZU is sufficient.
